As always, we began our day with morning Eating Meditations. Here is a little piece of a morning around the plate...
Just notice what's on your plate when you sit down to eat: This is all about your mind, and not really about food. Food is the way you express and project; everything you feel and believe comes out in food. That’s what we’re looking at now. We’re looking at what you believe, we’re looking at how you feel. So, do you want to feel well? Is part of your goal in eating this to feel great afterwards, or is part of it to just stop what’s happening inside? Is part of it to taste everything because you’re all about the pleasure? There is no right or wrong. I’m just asking you to really ask yourself, what happens when you choose food? Is it about the food or is it about, ugh, I finally can get enough of something I might now really want, and it really doesn’t look that good, but there’s so much else that I can’t get enough of, I’m gonna take what I can get enough of now. And no one is going to stop me, no one.
So, notice: that’s you! You know, I could say that’s you on steroids, but it’s not, it’s you regularly. Your mind as it manifests in everything you do. And what you can do is look at it and question it and be free of the suffering of it.
