Join us for a Small Immersion Group — 90-minute Zoom sessions on four consecutive Sundays beginning October 4th. It's a rare opportunity to work with me and a small group of committed students on a consistent, weekly basis.
In our time together, we will focus our attention on both the lies and the clear light of being ourselves. Here are some of what we will attend to:
- How we are against our own bodies. The ways we treat them, are harsh with them without even realizing it.
- What we persist in believing about ourselves. These beliefs are installations that were made before we could talk and that are reaffirmed and supported daily by the culture. They are usually what haunts us at 3 am. Or when we are convinced we did it wrong.
- The food we eat and how we express beliefs through our relationship with what is on our plates.
- The practice of not believing our thoughts.
- The many ways in which we are convinced that we are the body.
- And perhaps, most important of all: rotating our identification with our wounds and history to that which has never been wounded.
When we come together, the energy and the love of a group makes possible the work that was arduous or impossible to do on our own. Things we never saw before (because we were always looking with distorted lenses) become visible. The clarity and freedom of being ourselves become a reality. It is nothing short of miraculous and at the same time, utterly familiar because we recognize it as who we always are.
