Tonight marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year 5871. Rosh Hashanah. Big breath. The beginning of another year. The chance to metaphorically wipe the slate clean, ask: “And how then do I want to live now? What is most important?” And the chance to dance, celebrate, remember that underneath and beyond it all, joy exists. Pure foamy pink-and-orange joy because after all, in and between and beyond the fires, the cancer, the smoke, the pandemic, it’s a pretty great life. Dance with me. Evoke joy. There’s nothing better.
